The Transformed Heart

Focus: Hebrews 10:16-17 KJV: This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Under the Old Covenant, God’s laws were written externally on cold tablets of stone, and animal sacrifices were offered continuously because they could never permanently erase guilt. However, Jesus’s ultimate sacrifice on the cross introduced a radical transformation: God doesn't just give us rules to follow; He supernaturally writes His desires directly onto our hearts and minds through the Holy Spirit, giving us a genuine love for His truth. And because Christ paid the full price for our transgressions, God executes a divine act of forgetfulness, remembering our sins no more, wiping our slates entirely clean.
Before encountering Christ, Saul of Tarsus was a brilliant Pharisee. He knew the external, written law of Moses perfectly, but his heart was completely devoid of God's love. Saul’s track record of sin was devastating. He even stood by approvingly during the brutal stoning of Stephen. By all human standards, he was a high-level enemy of God who deserved severe judgment. But, on the road to Damascus, Saul encountered the resurrected Jesus. In an instant, his cold, external religion died, and a supernatural transformation took place. God took His law of love and grace and wrote it directly onto Paul’s heart and mind. Despite the horrific trauma Paul had caused to the Church, God completely blotted out his past. He was fully justified, chosen, and appointed as the ultimate apostle to the Gentiles, and lived with the absolute, joyful confidence that his past sins were completely buried in the sea of God's forgetfulness.
The enemy loves to bring up your old failures, mistakes, and iniquities to make you feel condemned. But when you are in Christ, God has consciously chosen to remember them no more. He completely clears your record and replaces your old habits with a brand-new heart that naturally beats for Him. Trust God and surrender your heart to Him today, and you will experience a remarkable transformation that will dumbfound the world.
Prayer
Father, please transform my heart that my past may be erased completely, and that I may love you genuinely even as I truly love my neighbors whom I see, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Please share. God bless you.
