Focus:
"Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein." — Hosea 14:9 (KJV)
Our focus scripture presents a choice between two directions for life. On one hand, there is the path of the "wise" and "prudent"—those who take God’s Word to heart and recognize that His ways are always right, even when they don’t make immediate sense to us. On the other hand, there is the path of the "transgressor," where the same truth that guides the righteous becomes a stumbling block for those who resist it. Walking in God's way doesn't mean we will never face trouble, but it does mean we are walking on a straight and secure foundation. When we choose our own path, influenced by culture or temporary desires, we inevitably lose our balance and stumble. True wisdom is not just knowing these scriptures, but applying them—choosing every day to align our walk with God’s.
Moses and Joshua were God’s servants. At their different times they presented similar posers unto those they led. It was a choice between life and death. For Moses, his counsel was for the individual to makes his choice. As for Joshua he made his decision in the matter that of himself and his household and their decision was to chose life that they may not stumble but to live.
In what areas of life are we trying to navigate on our own instead of asking for God's directions? Do we believe that the ways of the Lord are right even when they are hard or uncomfortable? How can we more intentionally "walk" in the truth we have learned from the Lord, this week? Our sincere answers to these questions will help us to do a proper appraisal and make right decisions that will keep us away fro stumbling and retain us in life.
Prayer:Heavenly Father, I acknowledge today that your ways are right and perfect. Grant me the wisdom to understand Your Word and the discernment to know your path. Help me to be a doer of your Word and not a hearer only. When I am tempted to follow my own desires, steady my feet and help me to walk securely in your righteousness in the name of Jesus. Thank you, Lord, for your unfailing love and mercy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Please share. God bless you.
