Focus: Proverbs 10:25 - KJV
25. As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
Genesis 18:21-26
A person is said to be righteous when he lives with the right side up. When he does, it means he has nothing shady or hidden that cannot be assessed of man. Someone once taught us that anything done in secret that must not be revealed is done in darkness and therefore, wicked and sinful. By the authority of God, the wicked is like the whirlwind that blows momentarily, passes away and is seen no more. There was a time in life when Jezebel made her husband the king to do and undo in wickedness. His wickedness caused God to leave Israel in famine for over three years. He even took over the vineyard of a well-meaning citizen surreptitiously, after falsely promoting the same and raising up false witnesses against him. In the end, Jezebel died spilling her guts on the street for dogs to lick her blood; and the husband, who would not decide on righteousness on his own, but leaned on the wicked directives of the wife, also passed having been wounded and disgraced in battle. The bottom-line is simply that the wicked never reigns for long: he is blown away, per time.
However, the righteous is not so; even if he dies a physical death on earth, his offspring continue to enjoy his legacies and dwell on in the reward of his deeds. For instance, God found David, a man after His own heart. God is the king of righteousness. Hence, for a man to be after His heart presupposes that the same has been judged more righteous than others, by God. Even though he was sorely persecuted, David never denied God. Though he had the power to avenge himself in several instances, he would rather leave matters in the hands of God. He was given to protecting the weak and the needy. He never forgot them that did him good to recompense them and, at a time, through their children, even though they were no more. No wonder God so blessed him in life and reserved for him and his generations, the throne in Israel. That is aside making that throne the route through which the messiah of mankind would manifest and did manifest.
Friends, there is no gain in wickedness. The devil uses it to trap those who yield to it. Since righteousness is living right-side up, wickedness is the opposite. Things that are covered provide hiding for the serpent and other rodents. When the owner goes to use the upside-down vessel, the serpent could strike, the scorpion may sting and so on, since they find abode therein. Let us therefore, abstain from shady things and indeed everything that works ill towards our neighbor(s). The end is never glorious for those who thus operate. Let us rather operate in absolute righteousness that we may be on the side of the Lord now, and in eternity. One thing is sure, God will not allow the scepter of the wicked to rise above the righteous. It means if you will operate in righteousness, you have tacit cover from the wickedness of the wicked.
SOLUTION: Operate only in things that suits God and not shady affairs. Do not hurt anyone for any reason. Do not take from the qualified what is due to him by corrupting others to bring it your way even though you be less qualified. It is nothing else but wicked.
Please pray: Father, please keep me forever in your righteousness in Jesus’ name. Do not let anything in this world be of attraction to me to make me hurt someone else, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. Give me the Spirit of truth and contentment, to guide all my actions that I may be found of you, a man after your heart, dear Father, in Jesus’ name.
