6. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
1 Corinthians 12:7-11
Ministry is unto God and for His glory. Everyone called to ministry is employed by the Lord for specific assignments. Each one is therefore, equipped with gifts sufficient for the implementation of the work assigned to him. Unfortunately, however, many ministers rather move from the post to which they are assigned to operate the office of others for which they lack the requisite gift to operate. For instance, a prophet is ordinarily loaded with the gift of prophesy by the Lord according to his level of faith, to minister by. The teacher, on the other hand is imbued perhaps with wisdom and the discerning of spirits with which to thrive. It is an aberration that such a teacher decides to operate as a prophet because he assumes the one prophesying appear to be more or better received.
All offices in ministry are meant to complement one another to the extent that if we do minister as unto God, we will not be lured to deflect from our callings, and together with other ministers we bring glory unto God. We are all parts of one and the same body. A time was when the enemy wanted to sow a discord between the disciples of Paul and those of Apollos; It took Paul addressing the Church for the fire to be doused. For if Paul plants and Apollos waters, they both working for the same aim which is to glorify God, will cause God Himself to bring the increase. A house divided against itself shall not stand.
The Lord wants us to know that as many as are surrendered unto His use in ministry are endowed with gifts. We need to first discover our calling and our gifts will make ways for us in it. When we dabble into ministry, doing things to which we are not called will only tend towards bringing confusion in the body. Once we discover our callings, we should stand firm in God to utilize our gifts in it to minister unto God so as to glorify Him alone, in it. Anything otherwise is against the mind of God and may end up being dubbed works of iniquity.
SOLUTION: Strive to know your calling and stay in it to operate. Never deviate from that which the Lord has assigned you to. And please never delve into something else unless if so commanded by God
Please pray:
· Give thanks to God for the ministerial gifts He endowed you with and keeping you functional to date
· Ask for greater gifts to employ for your calling in ministering unto the Lord
· Ask God to make you an effective worker of His all through life
· Pray that your ministry will not become an annoyance unto God
· Ask for your personal needs from the Lord for today
