We Have The Victory

Focus: 1 Corinthians 15:57 - KJV

57. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:50-58

The devastation of mankind through sin brought him under the power of death. The sting of death creates sorrow in many whenever there is an occurrence. The effect is such that loved ones are not able to stay together for long. Death is an enemy. To conquer death Christ was given to die for us. When He died, by His eventual resurrection, He defeated death and its effect over man. By this, even though we die in the body, there is still the hope of reuniting hereafter. How? As the mortal body we bear on earth is corrupted, it cannot leave the earth. Corruption cannot inherit incorruption. So, when the believer dies, he is given a more glorious body which is incorruptible from then. When Christ rose from the dead, because He had shed the corrupt body for the incorruptible, when He appeared to many, his acquaintances, they could not recognize Him at first because of His new form and appearance. When we also die, we are going to be like Him and see Him as He is. At this point, we already have victory over death as death has been swallowed up for us in victory. Therefore, when death occurs, it is only a transition to victory and greater glory.

Beloved, do not sorrow over your loved one that departed. Indeed, rejoice in the Lord knowing that he has been taken to a better place away from the pains and gloom of this present world. So, let not your heart be troubled. Christ already gave us the victory as He has defeated death for us. Be of good cheer.

SOLUTION: When the unbeliever sorrows, it is because they have no assurance of where their beloved is headed after death. Strive to hold on to your faith in Christ Jesus to the very end. Do not sorrow like the unbeliever over the passage of a fellow believer. Be blessed.

The Lord of Hosts will hold you up and not allow death to eat you up in a tender age in the name of Jesus. Anyone that will die and cause you to be so devastated as to sorrow, the Lord will preserve the same for your sake. If any close to you had passed before this day, God will grant you the fortitude to bear the effect of the transition in Jesus’ name. Sorrow is removed from your home in the name of Jesus Christ.
