Abounding in Hope

Focus: Romans 15:13 - KJV

13. Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 15:4-7

Life can be highly tormenting and turbulent on this side of eternity particularly for those who have seen the light as a way of escape from the viciousness of darkness. For the one in darkness is always quick to move against them with all manner of ills to want to make them forsake the new found way. But the scriptures are complete. Therein, we find examples of those that had gone before that we may draw knowledge and experience from their matters to help us in the pilgrim’s journey. Many times, the pilgrim is burdened with so much opposition, rejection and neglect that may want to make him feel the journey may not be worthwhile. We are enjoined to look unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith who did not look away from the goal and endured to the end. To keep us abreast and afloat, we are to be our brothers’ keeper and avoid antagonizing others. Once they name the name of the Lord, their iron may be able to sharpen ours and vice versa, in the way. We must not allow darkness to win in the matter at hand. Hope is only kept alive if we remain focused on the goal. It is true that when hope appears deferred it affects the mind, but we must keep thinking about the price that awaits us. With that, we will keep hope alive and the Lord will see us through.

Beloved, has the enemy been unkind to you, tormenting you and making you feel burdened because of the faith you have in Christ Jesus? It is only a ploy to make you lose the crown that has been prepared for you. Please don’t buckle. Job was a right example unto us: he was messed up big time by the devil just so that he might deny God and just resort to “easy life” outside God. Rather than receiving succor from his friends, they were adding salt to his injury. Thank God he did not buckle; he would not have experienced glorious better days. Let us not be like Job’s friends to others facing situations and circumstances. Let us sharpen them that they may end well. Whatever we do, let us keep hope alive for our redemption is here.

SOLUTION: No matter the prescription of the devil in our lives, we are to stick to the Lord and His promises for us. In doing so, we are to encourage others who may also be passing through tough times.

May the power that helped Jesus Christ in His down time support you from today in Jesus’ name. The one who sent an angel to feed Elijah when he was depressed will send help to you where you least expect in the name of Jesus. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead shall quicken your mortal body from this day so that you may be strengthened for the race in Jesus’ name. You will never faint in the way in Jesus’ name.
