Seek The Things Above

Focus: 2 Peter 3:13-14 - KJV

13. Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Revelation 21:1-27

The Lord of the universe is about to make all things new. He is the beginning and the ending. The current earth as we know it is about to be taken out and to be replaced with a new heaven and a new earth, one in which there will no longer be death or any ill of whatever kind. Unlike what we have currently, there will be no building of temples or what we colloquially call churches, as the Lord Himself will be the temple right there. Interestingly, the place will be characterized with holiness and therefore, there will be no filth of any kind thereat. To forestall the replication of the kind of filth the first earth experienced, the Lord will only allow those whose names are in the book of life in the new place. To this end, no worker of iniquity will be allowed in there. It is not enough to say I gave my life to Christ. It is how we live the new life we get from Christ that would determine whether we merit the citizenship there. We need to understand the description of the architecture of the place to appreciate the splendor available in the new things coming from above.

We are invited by the Alpha and Omega to become inheritors of the new heaven and the new earth that will soon be unveiled. It is not made for any known nation or people but those whose names are written in the Book of Life, devoid of creed, language, nationality or what have you. The kindness of the Lord makes Him to keep drumming this truth to all that some will still find it laudable to enroll as believers in this eleventh hour, so that, like those whose names had long been written, they may also be partakers of the grace. No, it is not about being born a Christian. Being born in a mechanic workshop does not make the child a mechanic neither does being born in an aircraft make the child a pilot. To be a part of the new thing coming from above, we must eschew filth and be intentional about living a holy life. Let us start today. It is not too late to begin.

SOLUTION: Live a life of holiness by hinging on to the new life offered by Jesus Christ. Renew your mind by forsaking those old ways that drew men into iniquity. As common as telling a lie may appear, it will prevent many from making it. Be determined by shedding it all.

Please pray:

·      Give praises to God who has good plans for His children including yourself

·      Ask God to please show you mercy so that your name may be retained in the Book of Life to the very end

·      Tell God to cut off every line of iniquity traceable to your path

·      Pray God to show mercy on many more that they may see the light even at these closing hours of His day that we may all together enjoy His presence in the end

·      Just submit yourself, spirit, soul and body into His hands to totally take over

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
