Resist The Devil

Focus: Revelation 12:9 - KJV

9. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

James 4:7-8

Men disbelieve the existence of Satan to their own folly. They claim it is fantasy and not real, just like some claim there is no God. The reality is that the world is controlled by two forces – light and darkness. God is in charge of the light while darkness is controlled by Satan. He was sent out of the domain of God in the light when he began to manifest darkness. He was cast out into the earth and thereat deceives the whole world, causing Eve to yield to darkness and drawing her husband along thereafter. Thank God for the second Adam, through whom he is put in check. Incidentally, only those who believe in Christ and draws nigh unto Him are able to properly put the check to use against the devil. Even though the devil has been conquered, he is still going about looking for whom to devour. And as many as will be deceived of him, will be so devoured. The antidote to that is in total submission unto the God of light through whom darkness is repelled. Upon such submission, it becomes easy to resist the devil. Once we submit to the light, and from the light we resist the devil who is darkness personified, he flees from us as darkness can never withstand the light.

Today, God is reiterating to us the need to overcome darkness and the issues therein. We have been told to have faith in the word with which we can overcome darkness; we also saw that with the power in the name of Jesus, we can make darkness bow its knees. Now, we are to ensure we resist the devil steadfastly as he is the prince of this world who operates darkness over the world. His time is almost up; but before he is cast into the bottomless pit, he is busy deceiving the world that he may draw many with himself. Those who yield to him become his servants and are to be with him in his punishment in the lake of fire. To avoid all of these, we have an avenue in our submission unto God and consciously resisting the devil. If he seems rather overwhelming, we have the instrumentality of the name of Jesus, His blood and the words of our testimony by which we can force him to take flight away from us. Use them today.

SOLUTION: Be careful for nothing. Stand firm in the Lord Jesus Christ. Never give the devil any space to breathe in your affairs. Resist him sternly and make sure you never succumb to him, in any way.

Please pray:

·      Give thanks to God for the victory we have obtained against Satan by the cross.

·      Ask God to build a cordon around you that will cause the devil to maintain a clear distance from you

·      Ask God to prevent every friend that Satan may want to use to get to you from having access to you

·      Pray that God will come quickly to implement His sentence on Satan so that mankind may be free from darkness

·      Let God into your fears that He may help you out
