Text: 1 John 5:14
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
Bible Reading:
Matthew 7: 6-11
Message:
The main trouble with mankind is refusal to ask from God those things that obviously are in His grasp and over which glaringly He has control and ability to give to us. The problem with those who take time to truly ask but receive not is that they often ask amiss to consume it on their own lust against the will of God. Imagine a child asking his father for a loaded lethal gun to take to school for sport. If the father is not callous, he surely will not give the same to the child because the gift will end up destroying him and, or others. The same thing happens when we ask God for things He knows will somewhat be damaging: He refuses to give the same and then man starts to grumble forgetting that God knows the ending from the beginning and can discern the thoughts of the heart. If however we will ask Him in specific terms for things like the blind man did, once the request is in consonance with His will which of course is premised on His word, receiving is assured. At times we ask things that make God look little in particular circumstances. Incidentally. “I am that I am” is tantamount to God is whom you say He is to you. If any ascribe little things to His prowess, that is the way He comes through for the fellow. But if you will recognize God as the Almighty with whom all things are possible, then ask Him today for great things and see Him come through for you. Ask and it shall be given unto you. His promise is sure.
