Blessedness Of Peacemakers

Focus: Matthew 5:9 - KJV

9. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

James 3:17-18

Our God is called the Man of War but indeed He is a peace lover. Those who first “met” Him and had only a little glimpse of His being ascribed too many attributes to Him and gave us the picture of a monster as God. This is what Christ came to correct and did correct. God is Love and therefore, righteous. Peacemaking is first towards God, then the neighbor and of course, between different feuding parties. Anyone who does this, carries in himself the seed of righteousness which is of God and thereby gets adopted through Christ, into the family of God as God’s heir, and indeed, joint-heir with Christ since the same gene now flow in him like that of Christ. He becomes entitled to call God Daddy, just like Christ.

All that Christ came to the earth to do was to reconcile mankind to God the Creator. In other words, He made peace between man and God. Before He took up the flesh, when He saw a feud brewing between Egypt and Israel whilst they were in Egypt, He did not direct a war or insurrection since Egypt was already afraid of the growth and prowess of Israel. Rather, He sought a peaceful separation. That is God! When Judas came with the arrestors for Him, rather than be enraged, Christ called him friend. Pure peace! When Peter understood that making peace makes way for Christlikeness, rather than invoke the power of death like he did for Ananias and Sapphira, he would rather rebuke and correct the evil minded than devour the same. He did become a son of God.

The Lord is redirecting our focus to His DNA and how to acquire the same. Unless we be like Him, we cannot rightly claim to be His children. God is a peacemaker per excellence. Those who waged war in His name had their priorities misplaced and were directed by their flesh, just like many today. They are assumed to be believers but are full of vengeful acts for themselves. It does not add up. A believer is dead to the flesh and should be truly dead to the flesh. Therefore, we should be fully prepared to make peace in all directions – with God, with men and between men – if we must be the true children of the living God.
