Care for the needy

Writer: Jide OlaoreJide Olaore

Text: Psalms 41:1-2

1.Blessed is he that considereth the poor: The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. 2.The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies

Bible Reading:

Matthew 25:31-46

Message:

All the resource upon the earth belong to God. He purposed everything for the comfort of man. He never intended the oppression of one by the other through the hoarding or stacking up of the resources freely bestowed by God. So, the Lord expects everyone that has to care for those who do not have enough to cater for themselves. That is love. This is akin to God the owner releasing unto all of us who have not in the first place. Isn’t it therefore surprising that man that is alive today and dead tomorrow take thought more than necessary for the day and end up neglecting the purpose of God in other men by being stingy with that which the Lord has provided to him? Everyone God has created is for a purpose. Whenever you fail to assist while you are capable you indirectly stifle the purpose of God and for that you will definitely answer. Remember the rich man and Lazarus. A careless observer may quip that but the rich man was the owner of his wealth; what evil did he do for withholding his own? But the owner of all things knows and decides better. The wealth of the rich man is ensured for the sake of the needy. When you take care of the needy, you are supporting God in helping them fulfill purpose. Such God loves and such God preserves, no matter what. Do you want God’s preservation? Then take care of the needy.

Prayer:

Father, please help me to be selfless with all you have given me: open my eyes always to see those I must care for that I may constantly be pleasing unto you in Jesus name.
