Focus: John 6:51 - KJV
51. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
John 6:47-53
The just shall live by faith. No one is a believer except he has faith in the Lord and all of His assertions. God created us all for life and not death. But, the happenings in Eden changed all things and pushed man to death because of sin. Nonetheless, our God is a purposeful person and He refuses to relent in granting man life which has always been His purpose. Hence, He gave us Jesus Christ to redirect us to life. Unless and until we accept Christ, we do not have access to life. This Christ had His body broken for us that through Him we may have life first through healing from our sicknesses and infirmities and then for true life and abundance of it.
When Israel went out of Egypt, they were exposed to the vagaries of the wilderness which could naturally bring sickness, hunger and death. But that they may live, God gave them the food of angels which they called manna, translated “what is this”, to eat. When they ate manna which was bread dropped from heaven, they were strengthened and had life throughout their wilderness experience. That bread was given by Christ the true bread of life. He has presented Himself as son of man and broken His body for the life of man. Hence, the life that man lost in Eden, he has in Christ. The tree of life that man was barred from has been given to him on a platter of gold. It is however for only those who believe and imbibe the true bread from heaven.
What do we have to gain in arguing whether Christ is God or not? There is no controversy that Jesus Christ is our Lord for He paid ransom for our sins and thereby bought us over. God wants us to, by faith accept the lordship of Christ and receive access to life. To remind us of the life we have in Christ, we are enjoined to take the bread and wine in fellowship as holy communion. That reminds us of the bread of life. Let us be careful to remember Christ always and cling to Him by faith, that we may receive life and life more abundantly.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for being my Lord and Savior. I look forward to greater life in you and life more abundantly. Thank you for feeding me with the bread of life which is better than manna. Please help me to remember you always by eating your flesh and your blood as often as I take part in it, in Jesus’ name. Let the life which you have offered, never elude me, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. Let the said life begin to show in my being from today, to the glory of your name, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
