6. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7. Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8. Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
1 Peter 4:7-11
God is a Spirit. His totality is too great for any one man to bear upon himself since the fall of Adam. Christ came and gave us a glimpse of who God is and by the grace of God, He manifested spiritual gifts that are not ordinarily possible for any one man to carry. To make man the whole being that He purposed him to be again, He decided to pour His Spirit upon ALL (many) flesh thereby distributing attributes of Himself on different men such that when they combine together, they manifest the person of God, in power. With such collection of men, mankind is able to overcome and withstand whatever power of darkness. Hence, each person is expected to master his own gift and use it in loving collaboration with his neighbors, and together form a bond.
Unless and except believers bond together in love after having mastered the use of the grace released on each, it is almost impossible to get out of the pit that the enemy has kept the creatures. When Christ taught us to pray that God’s kingdom comes, He was saying we should ask God to hasten the manifestation of this ideal. The Apostles refused to be distracted by serving the table and appointed people to focus on that. It afforded each to focus on the grace they had, but majorly, the ministry of the word. By this, they were able to make appreciable progress, getting many more into the fold, and teaching them about Christ without yet understanding the mystery about which they spoke.
The Lord is opening our understanding to many aspects of the grace He has bestowed on us. No one grace thrives alone except when operated in unity and love. It is a matrix of sort. The enemy knows that and ensures by all means that such love is not forged amongst the brethren. How then can the Church together overcome the enemy when there is no unity of the grace that makes God complete in the midst? The Lord is asking us to drop all rivalries, envies, hatred, malice and grudges that each may put his grace to use in collaboration with others and see grace so amazing in action. Are we willing to do that?
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for your gift of grace upon my life to be a teacher of your word and an evangelist to the world. I seek your help to put more focus on that which you have endowed me with so that I may put them to beneficial use for your Church and mankind. Let all the brethren by your power come together in unison, and grace to unite against the kingdom of darkness that your Kingdom may manifest on earth, as it is in heaven, in Jesus’ name. Make me a unifier of your Church and not a scatterer thereof, in Jesus’ name. Let the power of God in the grace we have, begin to manifest from now on in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
