Focus: John 15:11 - KJV
11. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
John 15:9-11
The Lord Jesus Christ told us that He came not to abolish the law but to fulfill it. He however made it abundantly clear that all those who came before Him were mere thieves and robbers and not true shepherds. It must be true that Moses was not in that a true Shepherd will not temper the word of God to meet the yearnings of the people. He gave a wrong counsel on divorce to Israel and claimed it was of God. It will therefore be correct to say that since those who came before Christ were thieves and robbers, we cannot follow their leads or anyone of them except that which Christ expressly approves, for us to make it in life with God. Hence, the commandments of Christ and all the things He told us, including the status of those who came before Him, must be paramount in our minds for us to truly prove our love of Christ. For it is only when we keep His commands that we show His love. If we fail to keep His commands and continue in the ways of a hireling/thief/robber, we will not be pleasing to God. Of all they that came before Him, none was declared as being one in whom God is well pleased. That simply shows that if we want God to be well pleased with us, we must follow the tracks of the One in whom He is well pleased, Jesus Christ.
Today, Christ is inviting us to fullness of joy which is embedded in loving Him by obeying His commands and following His footsteps alone. Many have sourced to be like Elijah and have become murderers offending the law of God which Christ came to fulfill which says thou shall not kill. The position of the Good Shepherd is that we pray for our enemies and not annihilate them. If we do understand the nature of our beings, we will know that the next person to us, devoid of color or creed, is a cousin. Howbeit that we pick up swords to slay our cousins just because they erred? Follow Christ alone; that is why He alone is the Way the Truth and the Life. In Him alone lies fullness of joy for us.
SOLUTION: Read the scripture with the heart to know God. Take good examples from they that had gone ahead of us and discountenance their deeds which Christ did not approve. Hold on to Christ’s ways, teachings and commands tenaciously. There lies fullness of joy.
By the power in the name of Jesus, the grace to obey and follow the lead of Christ is released unto us today in Jesus’ name. Nothing will derail us from the narrow path in any way in Jesus name. The Lord will by His power ensure we all finish well and strong as we stick with Christ our Good Shepherd in Jesus name. Please stay focused on Christ alone. Happy New Month!
