Control Your Speech

ree

Focus: Proverbs 22:11 - KJV

11. He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.

Proverbs 16:13

Oration is good and it adds value to the quality of the individual. However, when the orator becomes a vile speaker, that which should add impetus to him brings him into disdain amongst men. Some do speak well but say things that do not glorify. When they are not in gossip about the destruction of their neighbors, they are talking things that do not glorify God, at all. From such vile speaking, they become abominable unto the Lord their God. For as long as the orator understands to use his oration in righteousness, he is not only approved of kings but also of the King of kings. They that are so loved operate in prosperity emanating from the King of kings through the king. When they are vile in speaking, the king rejects them and the King of kings stays away from them. Those whom He stays away from are left to the devil to steal, kill and, or destroy.

Ahithophel was a good user of words. He was a great counselor and whatever counsel he gave was apt, in his days. He was king David’s lieutenant, friend and counselor. A time came in his life that he felt his friend the king did not do right. He pitched his tent with the king’s son who was in rebellion against his father. Absalom knew the pedigree of the man Ahithophel and prided his counsel. Unfortunately, the way of the counselor was not approvable in the sight of God for going into cahoots with Absalom, in rebellion against his friend the Lord’s anointed. Hence, when he counseled Absalom against his father, the Lord turned it to foolishness and he was rejected. That led to his suicidal end.

God is not against speeches. He however frowns at unrighteous use of words. Where words are used righteously, like for bringing others into the kingdom, He backs it up and prospers the word user. However, the Lord detests abominable use of words. He is therefore saying to us today that we should examine our words and ensure that they are couched in love and never for the destruction of others. No matter what anyone may have done to us, we are to emulate God by refusing to be hurtful to ‘the enemy’ but let our words be love ladened at all times. That will endear us to God as His true and loving children.

Please receive this:

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord will anoint all of our tongues like He did Isaiah and keep us holy; He will by His Spirit guide us never to desecrate any soul with our tongues in Jesus’ name. Like He defended David against Ahithophel, He will defend us against the counsel of every evil maker against our well-beings, in Jesus’ name. Every tongue that may rise against any of us is condemned from now.  The Lord will help bridle our tongues and keep us clean and righteous to the end in Jesus’ name. From today, God will expose and disgrace every evil user of the tongue against any of our destinies, in Jesus’ name.
