Focus: 2 Peter 3:13-14 - KJV
13. Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
2 Peter 1:5-11
One great question that crosses the mind of every right-thinking believer after having heard Christ say not everyone that called Him Lord would inherit the Kingdom except those that do the will of the father is, what is the will of the father? The father seeks to have every man restored to the original setting of being like Himself in love and purity so that those who fulfil this, without having a fault of any kind, will be afforded a place in the new heaven and the new earth which the Lord will bring to bear in the end. In the new phenomenon, no impurity will be allowed there and nothing vile will be allowed to exist there. It is to be a habitation of people who carry the true gene of the living God, the one who loves without any pretense. It is a place of righteousness and only the righteous will make it there. Hence, those who find it difficult to love do not have any expectation of it.
God is Love and it will interest us to know that despite all that Satan did against God, the Lord did not at any time hate him. He challenged the authority of God and brought a war in heaven, pitching his angels against Michael and the Lord’s angels. When he was defeated, he was not destroyed but banished from the presence of God. When, after he had pitched himself on earth, the Lord inhabited the praises of his people at the time of Job and he was there, God even engaged him in conversation and asked if he had not discovered how Job was a far better person than himself. And again, when God came in the flesh as Jesus Christ, he did everything to make Jesus deny God but failed all the way with Christ not destroying or quarreling with him. That is the clear indication of the living God who is neither quarrelsome nor a destroyer.
For everyone who is a believer and heavenly focused, it is important we strive by the help of the Holy Spirit to do the will of the father always by being like Him in love and focusing on the new city where the Lord has prepared for the overcomers. It is only those who will truly overcome that will make it there. These are those whom the Lord upon His return will find in peace, righteousness and joy in the Holy Ghost which is predicated absolutely on the nature and character of God. Today therefore, God is inviting us to be heavenly focused by putting all our hearts unto righteous living which is indicated in love.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for the grace to know you and to imbibe your person to the point of being like you in love to a great extent. I want to be more like you every day. Please help me to be completely as loving as you are in all ramification, in Jesus’ name. Please cleanse me of every work of unrighteousness so that I may fully qualify for your Kingdom City called the new earth and the new heaven where only righteousness is found, in Jesus’ name. Let me never miss out dear Lord, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
