Do good always

Text: Proverbs 3:27

Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

Bible Reading:

Luke 10:25-37

Message:

The standard of our God is clear and certain. Because God is Love and He created man in His own image and likeness, man is created in the likeness of love. Rather than fulfill this explicit purpose and being of God, man is continually wicked and shows forth constantly the nature of the enemy. As far as our God is concerned, anyone who knows to do a good thing but fails to do it, to the same it is sin. It is common place in society today to ignore and even avoid the poor. Many prefer to give to those who can give back to them rather than give to them that have not. Anyone that gives to the needy lends to God and God will owe no one. When we give to the needy without grudge, we store up for ourselves treasures in Heaven. Every needy and poor we ignore is the same as ignoring God while He is in need. We can not claim to love God if we do not show love to our neighbors whom we can see. It doesn’t matter the race or religion of the poor; anytime we give to the poor without discriminating we also preach the good news and represent Christ well unto men. Whilst He walked the face of the earth Christ took care of the needy around Him including the hungry, the sick and even the bereaved. Christ fulfilled His commission by preaching to the poor, healing the brokenhearted, delivering the captives, healing the bruised and giving sight to the blind. When He was leaving, He commissioned us to do the same and even greater works. When will you start to do similar works not to talk of the greater ones? Where is the semblance between you and Him that makes you Christ-like? Be His representative to the needy henceforth. Keep taking care of their needs. It will not cause you to reduce in any way. Jesus loves you and them too.

Prayer Guide:

Lord, please give me a benevolent heart like Christ that I might be bold to do good to my neighbor no matter what, in Jesus name.
