Do Not Be Foolish

Focus: 2 Chronicles 16:9 - KJV

9. For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

1 Kings 4:20-24

Relating with God must be based on understanding Him. God is not wicked. On the contrary, He is Love. As the Creator, He does safeguard His creatures from destruction. Howbeit, some assume they are wiser than Him and therefore refuse to follow His instruction. Those who do that withdraw themselves from His shelter. Yet, He is always on the lookout to embrace everyone that will acknowledge Him and particularly, those who are bent on following His instruction, to save them from evil arsenals. No wonder it is written that if a man’s ways be pleasing unto God, He will make his enemies to be at peace with him. When Saul was made king in Israel, he had rest when he followed the ways of God. But a time came when he thought he was all in all and would not obey the Lord, he was exposed to wars and he died in one. Solomon on the other hand had built a Temple unto the Lord as he wanted to create a place that will unify the Israelites with God. God gave him rest on all sides. When we perfect our ways before God, He remains our shield. When we refuse to, we remove ourselves from that cover and get exposed to darkness in which there is weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth.

That situation that seems like everyone is at war with you may be because your ways are not perfect with the Lord. Try amending your ways with a view to perfecting them in the Lord. It is not good to wage war against oneself. We do so when we refuse to obey the instruction of God. Such disobedience separates us from honor and exposes us to battle of life in the hands of those who ordinarily were our friends. When we return to the Lord, they will cease from tormenting us.

SOLUTION: Pursue perfection in your walk with God. Anything short of that is an invitation to trouble.

On this beautiful day, the Lord will receive us back from our waywardness in Jesus’ name. He will make the light of His countenance to shine on us all in the name of Jesus. Whatever will cause us to be separated from the cover of the Lord, God Himself will terminate the same for our sakes in Jesus’ name.
