John 6:36 - KJV
36. But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
John 6:24-29
It is one thing to claim to be a Christian and it is another to truly be Christ-like. Many people follow Christ for what to eat and drink. For instance, men deceive themselves and claim they are soul-winners when they lure men to gather to eat meals in a hunger-stricken society, thereby weaponizing hunger for self-aggrandizement. It cannot be right that we seek God for the sake of the bread we ate from His gathering and not because we truly believe that He is and the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. He is a Spirit, and they that seek Him do worship Him in Spirit and in truth. Of these, He is pleased.
Jesus Christ while He walked the face of the earth had fed a congregation of ten thousand men without counting the female congregants and the children. Thereafter, many began to seek Him up and down, hiring boats and traveling from coast to coast. But the Lord who knows the heart of all men, made it clear to them that they sought Him not because they believed, but because of the loaves of bread they ate. At another time, those who did believe, He empowered to tread upon serpents and scorpions such that devils bow before them.
The Lord wants us to know that it is unprofitable to the soul to follow Christ for food and drink as against true faith and sound existence in Him. He wants us to believe Him for who He is and live by His tenets going forward. We must desist from paying lip service to faith in Christ and begin to contend for the faith and not allow its erosion amongst the societies where we are found. Let our faith speak in all spheres where we are found. Let our faith be the attraction that draws others to our Christ and not necessarily by luring them through their lusts.
Please pray:
Thank you, father for the extent of faith you have gifted me. Do let your Spirit help my unbelief that I may do more and draw more people unto the faith in Christ, in Jesus’ name. Let nothing separate me from the love of Christ or diminish my belief in Him, in Jesus’ name. Please take me to heights in you that I never contemplated, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
