Galatians 4:1-7
A child is a disgrace to the father when he refuses to grow but remains like a little baby at the time he is expected to have attained some heights in life. As much as a father cannot wish his child dead, no father assigns the responsibility of an adult to a child or an adult who remains childish. Hence, even though a believer upon hugging God, is accepted as a child of God and treated as such, he does not come into full rights until he grows into a son, out of childish behaviors. Of course, it is as many as are led by the Spirit of God that are the sons of God. Therefore, if a believer refuses to follow the leading of the Spirit, he remains a child driven to and fro by the winds of doctrine and thereby sloppy. God will want that His children grow in grace and be God-like.
There was a fellow who was a sorcerer named Simon. He became born again and thereby was enrolled in the family of God. Rather than begin to grow with the brethren to the level of being led of the Spirit, Simon sought to purchase the power of the Holy Spirit from the Apostles whereupon Peter rebuked him sharply, saying, your money perishes with you. He wanted to continue with his manner of sorcery using now the power of the Holy Spirit. That is the manner of many supposed Christians today, who have refused to break the bridge with their past but go on as if there can be a combination between the new born and the old man.
It cannot be right that we keep putting a new wine into the old wine skin. It is bound to burst one day. God is a good and faithful father who wants His children to attain their inheritance with Christ. Howbeit, He is not going to commit a missile launcher into the hands of any sloppy child so that the same does not use the thing intended for a good course to cause greater havoc. The fire power in being with God is not child’s play. But it becomes antithetical to give a weapon meant for the destruction of foes to someone who lacks understanding and may turn it against his own or potential army. Hence, God is holding back from releasing power to many because they are yet sloppy children in whose hands such powers become dangerous to the Kingdom. If we need to be empowered, then we must stop being childish and grow in the ministry of reconciliation.
Please pray:
Thank you, father for making me to know the difference between childlikeness and childishness. I approach you today like a child approaches his father, please grant me the resources of heaven with which to thrive on earth, in Jesus’ name. Do not allow me to misuse your resources with childish mien, O Lord, in Jesus’ name. The grace to grow in stature to the fullness of the stature of Christ, please release upon me today, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
