Finding Habitation For God

Focus: Psalms 132:4-5 - KJV

4. I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids, 5. Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.

Mark 10:35-52

Happy New Month beloved and welcome to God’s season of glory for you. He will ensure you are glorified in this season, in Jesus’ name. Our God is Spirit but dwells amongst men. To so dwell, He requires a human tabernacle for habitation. He seeks those who would seek Him with diligence to commit their bodies unto Him as His temple to dwell in. Unfortunately, as He goes about seeking such temple in man, many are about Him seeking position and honor for themselves, not countenancing the Lord’s need.

Before Jesus encountered Bartimaeus, His disciples were cumbered about who should occupy the highest position in the Kingdom. Those who did not make their intentions known directly showed it by opposing those who did. They lacked spiritual sight even though they had physical one. Then came Bartimaeus: he lacked both spiritual and physical sight but sought the mercy of God. The Lord found him a ready habitation and opened his eyes both physical and spiritual. The result was a spontaneous reaction by following Christ, thereby surrendering his temple as a habitation for God.

David knew the importance of giving God an abode. Hence, he would not sleep until it is accomplished. The Lord wants us to put all things aside and have our spiritual eyes enlightened to see His need of our tabernacles for His habitation. If we would, like Bartimaeus, seek His mercy for an eye opening, then we will appreciate the essence of His dwelling in us and truthfully follow Him. Indeed, all the things about worldly honor, position and wealth will become meaningless to the enlightened one. He becomes focused on the need of God. Let us therefore, be particular about releasing our bodies unto God as His habitation, refusing sleep to our eyes until we achieve that, from today.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for the grace to see this new month. Let your glory radiate over my life from today more than ever, in Jesus’ name. Please make my body your habitation that I may be bold to say my body is your sanctuary. By making my body your habitation, let your glory so shine through me that many more may be enlightened to volunteer their bodies unto you for your purpose on earth, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
