Follow God’s Counsel For Glory In The End

Focus: Psalms 73:24 Psalms 73:24 – KJV - 24. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

God’s counsel is the ultimate roadmap for a believer's life, anchoring both our present journey and our eternal destination. God does not leave us to wander blindly; He actively navigates our choices with His divine "counsel" (His Word and His Spirit). Before our assignment on earth is completed, He glorifies us; and when our earthly assignment is completed, the final step of our journey is a magnificent promotion where God personally receives us into "glory."

Joseph's entire life was a chaotic storm of betrayal, slavery, false accusations, and imprisonment. Yet, his story is the ultimate Old Testament picture of a man whose steps were intricately navigated by the hidden counsel of God. When he was sold into Egyptian slavery and later thrown into a dark dungeon, he had no earthly roadmap. He didn't know how his story would end. However, he consistently allowed God's moral counsel to guide his private choices. When Potiphar’s wife tempted him, he rejected the compromise by leaning on divine counsel. God’s counsel kept his character clean in the dark. God used Joseph’s prison stay to position him to interpret Pharaoh's dreams. Joseph explicitly told the pagan king that his wisdom didn't come from human intellect, but that God was providing the counsel. God took Joseph straight from the dungeon and elevated him to the right hand of Pharaoh as the Prime Minister of Egypt. He was literally clothed in royal robes of fine linen, handed a gold chain, and given a chariot of glory. More importantly, his elevation allowed him to save his entire family, the bloodline of Israel, from starvation. Joseph proved that when you let God guide you through the low valleys of counsel, He will always bring you out into a place of public glory.

If only you will also lean on God’s counsel from today: soon your glory will show forth and you will be established to the envy of many others. And, in the end, you will enter into the ultimate glory with the Lord.

Dear Lord, I thank you for your counsel over my life in times past. Please forgive me for the times I did not completely follow your counsel whereby I got my fingers burnt. From now on, let me operate only in your counsel till I meet with you in glory. Let nothing hinder me from receiving counsel from you, ever; and do keep me in absolute obedience, by your Spirit that my glory may show forth in the end, in Jesus’ name.
