Memorize: Psalms 92:10
But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
Read: Matthew 14:22-27
Contrary to the teachings and believe of many, the anointing is not the smearing or rubbing with oil but the pouring out of the Spirit of God on an individual or a people. The smearing of oil is a physical symbol which, if not directed of God is nothing but an oil bath. The anointing is obtained from the presence of God not from any individual. When God was to anoint Moses, there was no smearing of any oil. The same was the case with Elijah, Elisha, Samuel and many more including Christ our Lord and Savior. It is the Holy Spirit coming upon man that is the anointing. Even when Samuel was to anoint king Saul, he declared it that he was smearing him (Saul) with oil because the Lord had anointed him.
When someone is anointed, he is empowered of God to do good and confront darkness without anything being able to touch him for God rebukes kings for his sake. But the ability to do much exploit is dependent on the quantum of filling an individual gets from the Holy Spirit. Many because they experience the spark of the anointing on themselves get over bloated in the head going about believing they have it all. No matter the quantum of your filling, you need extra filling from time to time so as not to depend on past glory. Even our Lord and Savior knew the same while He was on earth that He never stopped getting a top up. Every time He does a great fete or something, He secludes Himself to commune with the Father who, through the communion imbue Him the more with the Spirit. That was why He was never lacking in good works. He had constant fresh oil.
When last have you tarried in the presence of the Lord for a deep interaction/communion? You need it on a constant basis. That distraction that is taking away your time and preventing you from doing it may be the devil’s ploy to keep you away from the fresh oil. Overcome it consciously from today. Every time Peter had a refill, He could do much more exploit. Elijah’s ability to call fire down was because he was fond of tarrying in the Lord’s presence. Christ walked on water after leaving the presence of God. There are exploits you ought to be doing for the Kingdom also. The Lord is waiting for you and willing to grant you fresh oil if only you will tarry with Him. Don’t delay.
Pray:
Father, I thank you for the power in your anointing. Please grant me the grace of a constant refill of fresh oil by my being in your presence always in Jesus name.
