Text: 1 Peter 4:11
If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Bible Reading:
Acts 3:12-19
Message:
The whole essence of the works that the Lord Jesus Christ did on earth that culminated into His death on the cross is that He may raise witnesses to the fact that the promise of the father that the seed of the woman would crush the head of the serpent and that God will send a Messiah has already been fulfilled so that every one that hears of it may take benefit thereof. The physical witnesses at the time did their part and handed over to generations after up until now. As Christ’s witnesses, we are His representatives and we ought to represent Him with boldness not fearing those we are to deliver the good news to. Again, we are His witnesses and not doing the speaking for personal aggrandizement but that His name alone may be glorified. He is the one that makes signs and wonders to follow witnessing and not the witness by himself. We see the example of Peter that upon performing a miracle, he knew clearly that it was the name of Jesus that brought it to bear and returned all the glory to him without ascribing any to himself. The fete gave him greater boldness to speak further as the oracle of God. Doing so brought greater miracles in the number of souls won in the same day. Why not emulate the forebears in ministry in these matters and stop merchandising with the things of the kingdom? God’s glory He shares with no one. By all means witness; by all means minister to manifest signs and wonders. But then please bring those shoulders down so as not to appear as rubbing shoulders with God concerning the manifestations. It is in your humbling yourself before God that He gives you greater grace in ministry.
Prayer:
Help me Lord to remember that I am nothing without you so that I may submit myself completely to you at all times in Jesus name.
