Focus: John 17:4 - KJV
4. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
Joshua 13:1-6
The Lord has a purpose for every individual He puts on the face of the earth. Everyone is a messenger of the Lord but many fail to find their purpose not to talk about operating in it. Some are raised for specific performances but are busy doing other things to the point where their allotted time is spent without them achieving much. It is not about how long in years a person spends on earth but the accomplishment of God’s task ascribed to them. Yet, it is by accomplishments that we receive accolades from the Lord and not necessarily the time spent on earth. Those who accomplish their tasks, are taken into God’s Hall of fame and they receive crowns for their deeds. Those who do not will have their regrets.
Christ’s assignment as prophesied by Isaiah, found fulfilment in Luke’s Gospel and when He was about to go, He affirmed that He had accomplished His assignment and therefore, God was glorified in Him. He stated that the prince of this world found none of his belongings in Him. He left only at about age 33. Joshua had an assignment, grew so much in age but failed in accomplishment at some point, that the Lord had to ginger him up. Saul of Tarsus spent his early life having his focus in an opposite direction from his destination. When he realized and turned around, he knew he needed to redeem the time to cover more ground for his lover. Thank God he eventually accomplished.
The Lord is asking us today: “where are you on your assignment for this life?” Unless and until we are focused in the right direction like Paul eventually came to, there is no way we can win the applause of heaven. Wealth is good; luxury is precious. But all of it is vanity if we forfeit the Kingdom, or fail the Creator. Our admonition from God today is to take a stock of our lives and consider whether we are on track for fulfilling destiny. If we are not, it is important we change course immediately like Saul of Tarsus, and keep a focus. If like Joshua, we are partially done, it is good we start redeeming the time for the days are evil. Let us not allow the day of the Lord to come on us without having a good report for Him.
Please pray:
Thank you, father for letting me know the purpose for which you brought me into being. If there are yet assignments I am yet to be focused on, please reveal them to me while there is still time, like you did to Joshua, in Jesus’ name. Help me by your Spirit to redeem the time in my Kingdom pursuit, in Jesus’ name. Every obstacle in my way of accomplishing your purpose, please help me to clear them off in your power today, in Jesus’ name. In everything, do let me finish well and strong like my Lord, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
