Focus: Isaiah 49:15-16 - KJV
15. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. 16. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
Luke 2:41-50
Women naturally love their children particularly at infancy that they would do anything to ensure the wellness of the child. Yes, there are some insane or not too reasonable women who, after having carried a pregnancy for nine months or thereabout, give birth to the child only to dump the child in a sewage or cinerator or at some door step for whoever cares. But, by some irony of life, many of the children so dumped turn out to be a blessing. Yet, even the woman that so loves her child can forget him and fail to have compassion on him. But God never forgets anyone. For instance, it happened to young Jesus. His “earthly parents” were fond of taking Him yearly to the feast of Passover not understanding that they had with them the real Passover Lamb. They preferred the religious celebration of the shadow than the care of the real. When He was twelve, they took Him again and, alas! they left Him behind and traveled for a whole day before realizing He was not with them. When they went back to look for Him, it took three days to locate Him. This suggests that Mary and Joseph did not have the custody and care of their child for about four days. And what did they do? They accused Him of wronging them rather than show compassion not having catered for their child for four days. But Christ’s response was a jolt! He said something like this: who do you guys think you are? While you left me without compassion, my Father who does not forget His own, took the charge of me. And what do you expect? Should I not be about that my Father’s business? So, as much as a woman loves her child and may not likely forget him, there is a more compassionate father who can never forget us as He has us grafted in His palm.
It is the last day of the year. No, the Lord has not forgotten any of us. His compassions fail not. Because He has us grafted in His palm, whenever He lifts His palm to use, He sees us there and will never ignore us. It is therefore important that we are encouraged at this time even as the year runs to a final close, that God will never leave nor forsake us. He loves us and will prove Himself. The one who sustained the infant Jesus in those four days will surely show forth for us also at this time.
SOLUTION: Do not lose hope. Keep hope alive. Since God has not forgotten you, it is better you keep yourself upright for His visitation so that you are not found wanting when He eventually comes.
Father, hope deferred keeps the heart weary! Please arise for the succor of your children in Jesus’ name. Please do not allow us go into the new year with so much burden dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. Let every load of difficulty, shame, loneliness, lack, abandonment and all the other vices go away with the ending year in Jesus’ name. Let us arise with your light shining upon us so magnificently in the new year in Jesus’ name.

Sir, so in short, we should do away with prayer points that make it seem as is God has forgotten us
