Focus: Psalms 135:13 - KJV
13. Thy name, O LORD, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.
Exodus 3:13-15
There is something peculiar about God in that He is the only being that exists in eternity untimed, but is relevant in timed generations from culture to culture and age to age. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. His name to the first generation remains valid till now and unto future generations. He was in the beginning at the creation; when the earth was wiped out with a flood, He was there; when Abram was told to leave the Ur of the Chaldees, He was; when Christ came in the body over two thousand years ago, He remained God; and today, He remains God. And all through the ages, His name remains wholesome and valid in all circumstances.
Those who have understanding of the potency of the name of the Eternal One, have drawn benefit from it. Enoch walked with Him and was not: he never died like a natural man but got raptured because God took him; Noah leaned on Him and survived global destruction; Abraham got a blessing that is generational for believing Him; Moses obeyed His voice and did great wonders with a rod; Elisha trusted Him and caused a three year plus famine and also called down fire in His name; Christ came and showed us the way to Him doing many works, and today, many are also doing the same as well as greater works. The important thing is, knowing Him and understanding that His name is as powerful today as it was from the beginning.
Beloved, God has not changed and will never change. He will however not deny Himself. The reason some of the people who live in this generation are bereft of true signs and wonders is, they keep ascribing to God names that are not His. How can people speak lies in the name of the Lord and expect positive effect? You can have better results than those before you if you will use the name of the Lord in the right way. The right way is the way He is known to all ages and particularly, as presented by the Lord Jesus Christ. When you employ Christ’s way, you will have a remarkable result.
SOLUTION: The name of the Lord is a strong tower. It is relevant to all generations and forever. Invoke the true name through Christ Jesus and you will never be put to shame.
Father, you are the God of the living and not of the dead. We seek to be with the living in the end, therefore please continue to be our God in Jesus’ name. Our forebears called your name and it worked for them. Today, you have given us a name that is above every other name, as we call on you in the name of Jesus, please show forth in our circumstances in Jesus’ name. As that name makes all knees to bow, let every unrighteous knee bow for our sakes today in the name of Jesus Christ.
