Focus: Acts 10:34-35 - KJV
34. Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35. But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
Acts 10:34-47
Our God is the God of all flesh to whom all souls belong. He is the father of all but remains in fellowship with those who seek Him, that dwell in purity and obedience. It will therefore, be inimical to the ways of God to assume God treats a nation preferentially, no matter what, particularly when the said nation is working out of the will of God, in a way that makes God turn away. Israel are the people of the book. As much as God loves them, every time they worked against the will of God, they got into real mess for having separated fellowship from God. On the other hand, every nation that does the will of God enjoys the protection of the Lord from the fangs of the enemy. If Pharaoh had honored God and hearkened to His voice through Moses, he would have been protected from the devastation that befell him. Abimelech heard the voice of God regarding Sarah being Abraham’s wife and obeyed, thereby forestalling untoward repercussion.
Peter was a Jew who had been schooled in the Mosaic traditions of what to eat and what not to eat, and how only the Jewish nation was entitled to God and none other. Despite having met Christ and learnt from Him, he still maintained the heinous tradition that treats other beings as inferior and not worthy of God. It took the Lord to show him that whatever the Lord has cleansed is no longer common or unclean, before he would accept to be the Lord’s vessel to bring salvation to the household of Cornelius, the gentile. If he had remained adamant, hanging on to his ludicrous belief, one of two things would have happened: the Lord may not have been able to bring salvation, on that day, but later, to Cornelius’ house and may not have the same number again in the end; and he would have lost the opportunity to be useful to the Kingdom and may in the end lose out on other assignments.
Beloved, never look down on anyone as you do not possess the capacity to discern hearts and thoughts. Leave judgment in the Court of the Lord. Those you assume are out of favor with the Lord are the people the Lord is particular about drawing to Himself. The choice of Israel as a model nation was intended to guide the entire humankind in the way to identify and honor the true God. It is not to consign every other nation to the dustbin; no. God is the creator of all and loves all to want to rescue them from the hands of the deceiver who has them in derision. It is not the mind of God that any should perish but to be restored to salvation in the light. Let us therefore, see God from the prism of impartiality and not from the view of a partial and wicked God. The Israelite did not create himself Israelite just like the African or European never created Himself so. It is all the work of God and it pleased Him to make us so, not so that He would hate us for creating us to be who we are.
SOLUTION: God is Love and He loves all. Everyone that fails to obey Him cuts ties with Him and is the loser for it. But everyone that remains connected to Him is in favor forever. Stay connected and remain in favor.
