Key verse: Daniel 6:26-27
26 I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and steadfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end. 27 He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
Daniel 6:10-27
The God of all flesh works wonders amid His people. It is not uncommon for the enemy to move against someone who is on God’s side. Whenever it appears one is working for the Kingdom of God and against the kingdom of darkness, the enemy is blinded by the Light and would of necessity move against same. But every time he does that, once the one on God’s side remains immovable, the Lord, on his behalf, moves to do wonders.
David did not seek the throne of Israel. When he was anointed and it became clear that God was on his side, the enemy sensed God’s plan to use him for the Kingdom and therefore arose to lie to men so that David may be destroyed. Saul believed the lie and moved to kill David. David had opportunity to kill Saul but withheld his hand. If he had killed him, with the covenant he had with Jonathan, even if he became king, Jonathan would have been his deputy. God knew that the enemy could deceive Jonathan to turn his heart against David, if he killed Saul. As David did not avenge himself on Saul, but remained faithful to God, death located Saul and did not spare Jonathan so that David may freely reign on the throne which God delivered to him. David became eternally grateful to God for this great wonder and Israel honors God in David till date.
Daniel was a worshipper of God. Because of his Kingdom fervency, the enemy plotted to destroy him. It was either they make him deny God and be separated from Him or if he insisted on God, physically annihilate him. Daniel could not be deterred from his love for God. When separation from God strategy failed, they invoked the physical killing. Yet Daniel did not bulge. He was thrown into the den with lions but came out unhurt. The wonder working God turned the lions to his friends. Is the enemy waging war against you because of righteousness? Stick with God. Like it happened to Daniel, by the wonders of God in your life everyone will return to worship your God.
Pray: Lord, please perform your wonders in my life as I keep loving you in Jesus name.
