God our Lifter

Memorize: 1 Samuel 2:8

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he hath set the world upon them.

Read: Esther 6:1-11

All power belongs to the Almighty God. He is the one who owns all things and therefore He can do and undo. He can decide to take a king and make him a popper. If He likes, He can take a beggar and bring him to the palace to dine with the king and nobles. This is why it is extremely dangerous for anyone who finds himself in a high position today to speak so exceeding proudly. He got to that position only by the power of God. The same God can decide to humble him.

Mordecai was just a gate keeper in Shushan who was constantly oppressed by a noble called Haman. When God decided to promote Mordecai, He so humiliated Haman who had thought too highly of himself in relation to Mordecai by making Haman to serve the gate keeper. Hannah’s case was not different. Her husband’s other wife had maltreated her because she had no child. When God visited her, it was to the chagrin of her oppressor. There was a lame man hidden in Lodebar despite being a prince. When God decided his case, he was catapulted to the palace. David was at the backside of the desert when his father, brethren and the mighty prophet would not sit until he was anointed king. Saul was just going in circles looking for an ass when God appointed him king over God’s people. Is there someone somewhere trying to make life difficult for you because of a position or influence they possess? Relax! God is on your case now. He is the lifter up of our heads. The king had purposed death for Obed’edom because he assumed the man was worthless. But in three months, because of what God did for Obed’edom, the king himself envied him.

If God must move on your behalf, then you must have a heart close and dear to Him. That is the common factor to all those we have referred to. If only you can decide for God today, He is ready to make your enemies your footstool even as he takes you from the dunghill in a manner of speaking and sets you among princes. Rejoice! Your time to shine has come. Yield to God

Pray:

Father, I acknowledge your power over the situation of my life. Please take me from the dunghill of life right now and set me up in the palace in the name of Jesus. Thank you Lord.
