Revelation 21:1-8
Our God is one who dwells in splendor amongst holy creatures who, together in love serve and worship Him, all year round (if years are counted in His abode), without rancor, pain, wickedness or sadness in any form, as, in His domain, there is neither death nor destruction. That is what happens in heaven where God dwells, in accordance with His will. The same will He transferred to earth when He reformed the earth after it went into shambles due to the fall of the devil into it. Then, He made man to superintend the rejuvenated heart and to bring His will to bear on earth as it was intended to be even as in heaven. Unfortunately, the man who was never meant to encounter death and other vices he knows today, hearkened to the voice of the deceiver to do evil and thereby, things that were averse to the will of God, including but not limited to death, was reintroduced to the earth. Indeed, like the way it was in the initial fallen state, gross darkness took over the earth again.
Upon the introduction of Christ into the affairs of man, His assignment was to set in motion the mechanism through which the will of God will be restored to earth just like it is in heaven. Hence, before going to the cross to erase that which man did to submit the reins of the earth to the enemy, He taught us to pray that God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven. It follows that the restoration of the kind of harmony in heaven upon the earth is not an automatic affair but can only be done by God through our prayers. From the ascension of Christ till date, many have abdicated the prayers of Christ assuming, albeit wrongly, that it is a gentleman’s prayer and they have added their peps to it which include prayers that can never be targeted on God but the evil one. So, rather than the will of God to be done on earth, much more of the things of the devil are found happening. Now, gender issues are obliterated like it happened in Sodom, nudity is a pride, killing, for as long as it is not direct, is fanfare and application of wisdom and power.
The mind of God for us is to return to the way that the Lord Jesus Christ introduced to us which is to pray God to let His will be done in earth as it is in heaven. The ultimate beneficiary of that accomplishment of course is man to whom God had long ceded custody of the earth. When His will is done in earth, the devil and his vices are muted and mankind will dwell in unity and love with absolute reverence to the Almighty God. Well, whether we pray or we don’t, the Lord is bent on it and has already revealed it through John the beloved. It will translate into having a new heaven and a new earth where the Lord will dwell amongst His people to be their God and they will be His people in love: loving Him and loving one another as He has always willed. How sweet and beautiful it will be for brethren to dwell together in unity as a precursor of that which is to come.
SOLUTION: Please take time to pray the Lord’s prayer regularly so that the Lord may countenance our hearts as we seek that His will be done in earth where we dwell currently; and then, be deliberate about dwelling in love, eschewing evil and everything that is of the devil.
Please pray:
· Give thanks to God for giving us a lead on how to pray so that we may be in comfort on earth
· Ask God to please, by His power, eradicate the move and dominance of the enemy over the earth by restoring His light on earth, forthwith
· Ask God to touch every heart of stone and turn them to flesh that men may yield more to God than the enemy
· Pray that whatever happens, when the Lord shall bring up the new heaven and the new earth, you will not be missing thereat
· Please recite the Lord’s prayer in the form He gave it to us
