The Overcoming Blood

Focus: Revelation 12:11 - KJV

11. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Revelation 12:7-11

God puts so much value to blood because the life of an animal is in the blood. This was known to Moses and he gave to Israel the ordinances of blood believing that wherever the Lord finds blood, He is moved with compassion. The book of Revelation is such an important book in that it combines information about the past, present and the future. It confirms to us what Paul said in his writings that the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ was shed from the very foundation of the earth. That which was done by the shedding of the blood of the Lamb is eternal. It worked in the past; it is working now and it will save to the uttermost end.

John, in the book of Revelation, gave us an account of how the dragon was driven out of heaven. It was a fierce battle which took the blood of the Lamb and the words of the soldiers’ testimonies to overcome. The blood of the Lord Jesus Christ was operational when the first rebellion happened. Eternity is going to be interesting. It was by the operation of the blood that Michael and his team were able to dislodge the enemy, who accused, accuses and will still accuse the brethren, from heaven. It is important to note that from that time till now, the blood has not lost its efficacy for it is by it that the devil is made to cease his operation anywhere on earth, and at any time.

The blood of Jesus sets free. The Lord is reminding us today to always bear in mind that wherever He finds the blood, He will not allow the enemy, who is the purveyor of death to come near. He did that for Israel in Egypt for them to realize and remember the power in the blood. Since we have so much power about us, the Lord is saying we need not be yoked by the devil in any way. All God wants us to do is to always invoke the blood and testify to the goodness of God in time past. Surely, we shall always overcome the devil by that.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for the eternal blood you shed for my sake, which speaks better things than the blood of Abel. By the power in the blood of the Lamb, Jesus, let Satan lose his hold on my life and every part thereof, in the name of Jesus. Let everything that has to do with darkness be extinguished from my life and ways, by the reason of the blood, in Jesus’ name. Bring the light of your countenance to bear upon my life from now, better than ever, by reason of the blood, in Jesus’ name. Let today mark the permanent separation between me and issues of darkness, in Jesus’ name.
