God’s Work We Are

ree

Focus: Ephesians 2:10 - KJV

10. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 1:3-12

When the Lord made man, He had a will or purpose for doing so. Incidentally, man deviated from God’s will and fell short of the glory of God that was originally bestowed on him. But God is a resilient will pursuer and fulfiller. Hence, He made a plan to restore man to glory: He gave Himself up in the form of the son of man to bear the consequences of the misbehavior of man. Through this, every man that accepts the rejuvenation He has presented, He redirects by His Spirit, who keeps working on the same until he becomes the glorious piece that the Lord had purposed from the beginning. That state is exemplified in Christ. Therefore, until we start to love precisely like Christ, we are yet to attain God’s will. When we do, His name is glorified for the works He has done in us.

There was a man called Elisha in the days of scripture. His boss and mentor was a no nonsense person who saw enmity in anything that stood against him. Slaughtered prophets of Baal, roasted two platoons of soldiers and so on. Meanwhile the will of God is strictly, thou shall not kill. Elisha must have imbibed these traits from Elijah as he did not care that children can be exuberant when he cursed the ones that called him bald-headed. However, by the time he was faced with the Syrian army, God had worked on him to the extent that he refused to roast them but fed them. Nonetheless, his flaws still showed in the case of Gehazi and later when the kings of Judah and Israel visited him, and he got angry seeing the king of Israel. To get restored to the presence of God, he needed the ministry of a minstrel.

There is a height that the Lord purposes for us all and He wants us to be aware that He is working it out. As many as are willing to yield to His Spirit will attain the height in no time. It is our stubbornness that makes us decline the leading of the Holy Spirit which leading is the way God works on us to attain the will He has for us. The earlier we realize that all that is being done is for our lifting and the glory of God, the better for us. Let us therefore, be submissive to the schooling of the Spirit so that in no time we may be called sons of God.

Let us pray:

May the Almighty God, the one who is the Potter, mold you aright and make you into what He wants you to be, in the name of Jesus. May you never disappoint Him or ever fall short of His glory again, in Jesus’ name. May the power in the resurrection of Christ transform you fully into the being the Lord purposed from the foundation of the world, in Jesus’ name. And from today, may you start to relish the beauty of God’s achievements over your life through a beautiful life in righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
