Guaranteed Safety in Turmoil

Key verse: Isaiah 43:2 - KJV

2. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Daniel 3:1-27

There is an affirmation from the Lord that we shall face tribulation in the present world; yet for the Believer in Christ, there is a cheering news: Christ has already overcome the world. Tribulation is of various forms and shapes. The first is brought about by members of one’s household. Joseph will be a great preacher on that experience. There is another brought by friends and acquaintances. Judas Iscariot was a bad friend for this. There is that brought by co laborers who out of envy or jealousy decides to sell out. Notice the sons of the prophets about Elisha when Elijah was to be taken away. Yet there is that brought by one’s leader, king or president just for the sake of wanting to assert power. Naboth suffered this in the hands of Ahab and Jezebel. And just yet, there is that brought by other nations or unfriendly neighbors. Israel experienced that severally in the hands of her neighbors. The list is almost endless but the key is, no matter the form it takes, there is a base and principal actor who originates it all – he is the devil. Every other actor noticeable in the affairs merely dance to his tunes and become tools in his hands.

Nonetheless, it is for this cause that Christ was made manifest – to destroy the works of the devil. Hence, in a prior act before the physical manifestation was fulfilled for all, when the devil moved against the three Hebrew men in the book of Daniel by making the rulers and co laborers hate them for serving their God which culminated into throwing them bound into a specially overheated furnace, He showed up as the fourth man in the furnace with the effect that the bound men were loose and were not scorched in any manner, thereby destroying the enterprise of the devil against them. Christ, wanting us to believe He did it before and can do it again, like it was promised through the prophet Isaiah, enjoins us to be of good cheer when tribulations eventually come.

Tribulations also come in degrees. Anyhow, it would surely come as it is the main enterprise of the prince of this world. The enemy is about to unleash a great tribulation upon the world shortly. Many would be forced to denounce Christ like it was attempted with the Hebrew men. The hardship that will happen, including death scare will make many to yield to the enemy. But for those who truly believe in the Lord, they shall be firm in contending for their faith. Christ will hold you up if you will be strong for Him.

Pray: Father, as you have overcome the world, help me also to overcome, no matter the tribulation, in Jesus name.
