20. For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Philippians 3:15-21
Different realms exist for the creatures of God to occupy. There is the realm of the earth which is where man is expected to operate in dominion; there is another beneath the earth which realm is controlled by another specie of God’s creatures; there is the realm of the dead, where all those who die on earth occupy prior to their being raised for judgment. There is also a realm of the spirits occupied by principalities and powers, and there is the realm of heaven where God is with His company of innumerable angels. Rather than be in the realm of the dead, Christ was taken straight to the realm of heaven. By His transition, He made a way possible for all human creatures to be able to approach the throne in the heavenly realm where all things that pertain to all the realms are determined, if they live according to His prescription.
Hence, it became possible for Satan to release fire from the realm of the spirits while usurping human dominion when he caused havoc for Job by fire. When Lazarus and the rich man died, they were in a realm albeit separated by a gulf. Lazarus was in dead but alive Abraham’s bosom. No angel or spirit was said to feature there. There is the realm where Jesus is said to be seated at the right hand of the father. Therefore, when those who are of Christ pray, they use the name of Jesus because He is their High Priest and is by the right hand of the throne of power. They seek Him to ensure accentuation of their requests which come in the form of heavenly conversation from the earthly children to the heavenly father, through the Son, Jesus Christ, by the help of the Holy Spirit.
The Lord is showing us the mysteries that were hidden from those who had gone before us. Now, we are able to have conversation with heaven even though we live in the body in the earthly realm. But that is made possible only because we operate in Christ, and the Holy Spirit lives in us. This becomes so through righteous living. A person who fondly does evil cannot have the Holy Spirit retained in himself, neither will Christ permit the same to linger on in Him. If only we will take up the gauntlet to lead holy lives by following the precepts of Christ, then shall our requests and petitions begin to form part of the heavenly conversation away from every other realm where it can be disturbed.
Please pray:
Dear Lord, I thank you for the grace to know Christ and to live life according to His prescription. In any way I veered away from the path He laid down in the past, please forgive me and redirect me to the right course. Let me from this day enjoy better conversation with heaven through Christ Jesus, in Jesus’ name. Put an end to delayed petitions and unanswered prayers in my life, in Jesus’ name. As a mark of your Amen, let there be rush of performance to my hitherto lingering petitions even now, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
