Text: Col.1:15-17

15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Bible Reading:

Col.1:12-20

Message:

Anytime armed robbers enter the home of a family that has no special defense, the tendency is for everyone in the home to panic, cringe and plead for their lives not minding if their belongings are done away with. All because the assailants bear arms which appear sure. What a situation. The irony is if a preacher had gone into that home with the Bible which is the Word of God and the most potent weapon ever asking them to submit to the will of God by surrendering their earthly lives to Christ that they may have eternal life in Him, they are likely to rebuff the preacher treat him with disdain and throw him out shabbily. Whereas the consequences of such action will be graver eternally if we do understand the ways of God than resisting the robber. Many today resist Christ and say all manner of things to ‘justify’ their words and actions. In the meantime, the One they resist is the one with Preeminence over all things in heaven and earth. All scripture affirm this. All known and popular religions confirm it. Man, in their warped minds believe the matter is one in which they can feign ignorance. Unknowing to them, it is in this Christ that all things consist and everything was made by Him and for Him. What all this means is He has the greater capacity than the robber to do with your life as He wills. Ask Herod! When he contested glory with His Preeminence who created him, the Lord recreated him into worms. Why are you contesting with your Creator? Why fear man who can kill the body more than He who can kill the body and the soul? Yield to the Lord today. That which He desires of you, yield it to Him. You know what.

Prayer:

My Lord and my God, I surrender all to you. Let my life show forth your glory at all times in the name of Jesus Christ.
