Is Christ Your Lord?

Focus: Luke 6:46 – KJV 46. And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Matthew 7:21-23

The word Lord is used for someone or something having power, authority, or influence; a master or ruler. Many do call Jesus Christ Lord without according Him the rights of a Lord. The contention is about obeying Christ or obeying Moses. When Jesus healed the man born blind and he was challenged and asked “what did he to you”, despite having explained his encounter, his accosters told him plainly that they were the disciples of Moses as against that of Christ. So, they maintain Moses as their Lord and not Jesus Christ and therefore, they would rather obey Moses’ injunction rather than Christ’s. Meanwhile, between Moses and Christ, the one recommended by God Himself for us to hear is Christ. As for Moses, he presented the commandments and said if we obey to do, we shall be blessed. Christ in fulfilling the law, has guided us to understand that the entirety of the law is love and to fulfil love in the law, He gave us injunctions that finetune the law (not the commandments, a drop of which will not go unfulfilled), to end truly in love.

Now, if Moses be Lord, then we ought to stick to him and stop calling ourselves Christians but rather Mosaics or something like that. But if Christ be our Lord, it is meaningless to call Him Lord and refuse to obey His commands. In the meantime, a refusal to obey Him is a denial of His Lordship. He has promised to deny also everyone that denies Him on earth. That is to say, those who fail to obey Him shall be denied of Him in the end. No wonder He said many will claim to have prophesied in His name but He would yet deny them being workers of iniquity. The year is already running to an end; it is critical at this time to decide who is Lord. If it be Moses, then stick with him and if it be Jesus Christ, then stick with Him and obey His injunctions. Truth be told, if the lordship of Moses was right and perfect, there would never have been a need for a new covenant in Jesus Christ. Christ teaches love, but Moses, vengeance. Which would you approve?

The power to choose and choose rightly the Lord will confer on each of us in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. As the year 2023 rolls to an end, the decision to obey Christ more from now shall spur us into greater achievements and heights in the new year, in Jesus’ name. Every power militating against our trusting and obeying the Christ shall be pulled down hence, in Jesus’ name. In the new year, the profiting of the Kingdom shall be manifest and glaring in our lives in Jesus’ name. The Lord Himself whom we believe and obey shall guide our hands to profit in Jesus’ name. We shall never regret obeying Him as Lord, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

SOLUTION: Choose Christ and obey Him. By doing so, you will be obeying God who in scriptures said: “this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, hear ye him.”

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
