19. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Deuteronomy 30:15-20
Our God is a shield and a defense unto them that fear Him. In presenting Him to Israel, Moses made it appear as if inside Him lies life and death. But it is that everyone that fears and therefore obeys Him shall have life through Him; and, conversely, those who decide to forsake Him and hearken to another, surrender themselves unto death which is the ultimate ministry of that other. Hence, for us not to stray unto death, the Lord instructs us, and literally pleads with us, to stick with Himself so that we may have life. They that chose Him chose life and they are in the end accorded life more abundantly.
The nation of Israel was in bondage in Egypt. God, because of His love, was a shield over Egypt and every other nation. Then the Lord asked Egypt to release Israel to Him, and Egypt said no, thereby rejecting God. For them to understand, He moved His cover slightly off the Egyptians, allowing the enemy access to them. For that, Egypt suffered plagues. In the final plague, He shielded everyone but the firstborn beings in Egypt and therefore, the firstborn of the Egyptians were exposed to death. Meaning, those who obeyed Him were protected why those who did not were left to the enemy.
Today, the one to obey is Christ. Everyone who fails to live in obedience to Him is by Himself making a wrong choice since there is no middle ground. It is either we are for Christ or we are for Satan. Those who chose Christ chose life while those who do not, have made a wrong choice. To live is to enjoy life in this present world and in eternity with Christ. To choose otherwise is to settle for a miserable life in the current space and damnation in the afterlife. God is asking us to choose life by choosing Christ. There is nothing our choice adds to or takes away from Him; but because of His love for us, He wants us to live. Please choose life and live.
Please pray:
Thank you, Lord for the life I have in Christ Jesus. Please keep me in life by not allowing me to ever stray from you, in the name of Jesus. Let me forever be severed from the enemy who is only out to steal, kill, and destroy; let me never be his prey dear Lord in Jesus’ name. Let my life on earth begin to show the choice I have in you, such that no matter the plague on earth, I will never be affected in Jesus’ name. Keep me forever in your peace and blessing in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
