Focus: Psalms 89:8-9 - KJV
8. O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee? 9. Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.
Mark 4:35-39
Host may refer to a great number or multitude or an assemblage of an army. In the case of the Lord God, He is not just the God of a host but of hosts. Meaning, no matter the volume or assemblage of armies, He remains their Lord. No wonder the Bible says the Lord gave a name to Jesus that is above every other name so that at his name, every knee should bow of things in any or all of the realms. That is wherever the hosts may be, He has been made their Lord. And it is also written that He is seated in heavenly places far above all principalities and powers, being now the head of all principalities and powers. As part of His authority over all the realms, when He speaks to storms they are stilled. A big Sea was going to punctuate the journey of Israel to the promised land. But at His command and leading, the Sea parted and land showed forth for His people to walk on. Even though the enemy can come rushing towards man like a flood that rages, yet the Spirit of the Lord God of hosts can raise a standard against it. The Syrian army had laid a siege at the gate of Samaria that caused every activity thereat to cease. When the Lord of hosts was to quell the storm they raised thereby, He only caused them to hear a noise from the marching of four common lepers and they took to flight leaving all their spoils of war. It does not matter where the realm of operation of the enemy may be, the voice of the Lord is recognized thereat enough to cause the hosts’ operations to cease or turn in our favor.
What is it that is causing the lover of God to panic like the disciples panicked in the boat in those days? Because the Lord God of Hosts is in your boat, the storm shall be stilled today without fail in Jesus’ name. Even if it is the host of heaven that moved against you, as you reconcile with the Lord through repentance today, the blood of Jesus will avail for you and the storm shall cease now in the name of Jesus Christ. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Lord God of Hosts. If He moves against anyone and the fellow fails to realize it on time, the effect can be highly devastating. No other host or lord thereof can rescue same from the Lord. Are you willing to repent for mercy to locate you today?
SOLUTION: Be a member of the Lord’s family. Since you do not have a full grasp of what is happening in the realms, ask for God’s mercy and forgiveness everyday so that the accuser of the brethren may not overcome you. Then have faith in God to still that storm.
Father, the storm of the world is raging so much that it is sweeping many away. Thou Lord God of Hosts, arise for us your children and still the storms as they pertain to us in the name of Jesus. If by any means we had fallen short of your glory, do please by your mercy forgive us and restore us unto yourself fully in Jesus’ name. No matter what the accuser of the brethren might say concerning any of us, please Lord do not yield to him as we plead the blood of Jesus Christ at this time. Therefore, daddy, please assert our victory thereby in Jesus’ name.
