Man Of God’s Level Of Faith

Focus: 1 Timothy 6:11 - KJV

11. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

1 Timothy 6:11-16

Every society has a mind of who God is, even though they may not be apt about the truth of God and how to please Him. In every such society, there are men of God. These ordinarily, are those who are looked upon as being those who do know God and carry themselves as such. They are however far from understanding the person of God, whether they were Jews, Arabs, Hispanic, Africans or whatever. The coming of Christ is to help set our visions right so that we may have a clearer view of the faith that takes us to God, aside what these ones had shown mankind. Hence, to ensure there is no continuation in the fallacies created by the doctrines of the men of God, they are also counselled to know that they are not yet full of the knowledge of God. Hence, for them to be perfected, they must imbibe Christ and unlearn their old ways by following after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Indeed, they are to bring forth the fruit of the Spirit if indeed they are to be of God, who seeks sons and not men of God.

The bane of the world today is the refusal to shed the ways of the men of God. Many confuse such ways with the way of God. Our God is perfect and seeks that we be perfect. No man of God is or was perfect, hence, they were enjoined to imbibe the true Spirit of God and bring forth fruit to depict the new stance. The position of God therefore, is that we look unto Jesus, who is the author and the finisher of our faith. If any be man of God and he guides us away from anything that Christ has guided us into, we need to be careful of same as he is yet to truly carry Christ in him. The test is what Christ would do, or approve, in the circumstance. If what we are being drawn to is away from this, then we need to hold our brakes and stick with Christ. Let the man of God therefore, avail himself of the true faith that emanates from Christ that he may cease to mislead many from the true way, Jesus Christ.

SOLUTION: Let every man of God check what he believes and teaches. Christianity is based on Christ-likeness. Whatever is not of Christ or approved of Him need not be built on. Learn of Christ, the only begotten, and not of men of God.

·      Give thanks to God for making us know that men of God are far from perfection and are not to be emulated, but Christ

·      Ask God to please fulfil His promise of letting the Holy Spirit teach you all things so that you may know the truth at all times and follow just the truth

·      Ask God to please forgive you in the things you had done in times past placing reliance on the imperfection of men of God to veer far from the way of God
