Focus: Romans 14:4 - KJV
4. Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
James 4:11-12
The only judge that is and can ever be righteous is the Lord God Himself. Often times, when a man is called to operate in judgment, he is called upon to determine the intent behind an act and place the same on the law, to determine the fairness or righteousness of the action. And since there is no art for finding the mind’s construction on the face, most judgments are a miscarriage of justice. But the Lord does not judge the surface but the whole intent behind an action. At any rate, it is not in the place of any man to operate in judgment over the other, particularly when there is no slavery in operation any more.
In the days of ruling by kings, Israel had a king called Ahab, who, by right, was the Chief Judge in the land. He coveted the vineyard of a man called Naboth and offered to buy the same. Naboth refused to sell as no amount of money was adequate for eroding one’s heritage. This made the king unhappy and his wife raised a phantom charge against Naboth with suborned witnesses and brought him before the court of the people. Because the law was that by the testimony of any two or three witnesses, a thing was established, Naboth was stoned to death for nothing. That is what human judgment achieves.
Many people are eager to judge others conclusively based on clandestine evidence provided by those who are somewhat against the person they are accusing in one way or the other. They fall into error in that they support others to do evil. They will present ‘evidence’ that seem damning. What they won’t do is put therein anything that would make them fallible themselves. Even in the nominal courts, the judge is never permitted to try a person on facts presented by an adversary without the right to cross examine the accuser. Only a mad person does a thing without a reason. At any rate, since we all belong to God and He is our Master, why not leave the ‘offender’ to Him? To Him alone we fall or stand. And if we do fall, God is able to make us stand again. Hence, what is the stress in our rush to take over God’s seat in judgment to aggravate the situation of the innocent?
SOLUTION: No matter what anyone tells you, never judge another person from it. Indeed, if we are to pursue peace with all men as instructed of God, the theory of making my enemy your enemy that we may remain friends is very satanic. Judge not so that you are not judged.
Please pray:
· Please give thanks to God for being the righteous Judge for if not for Him, many would have been treated worse than Naboth, Daniel, Joseph and many others
· Ask God to forgive you for every miscarriage of justice you have been involved in by listening to some juicy story of the wicked
· Pray God to please give you the skill by the help of His Spirit to discern when evil is at play and abstain from judging others
· Ask God to please vindicate you wherever you have been judged wrongly
· Our daily bread is better sought here
