Focus: Psalms 37:17-19 - KJV
17. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous. 18. The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. 19. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
Psalms 37:12-20
Every act of wickedness is crafted against the Lord who is the lover of mankind. Hence, a wicked person is an enemy of God. Conversely, those who live in righteousness dwell in love and therefore are reckoned as the friends of God. The Lord spends “time” and resources to build up every man that has existed from the foundation of the earth. When the wicked comes against one of such planting, he moves to undo what God has invested in. So, where God finds His planting to be upright, He defends the same with His being and ensures that no matter what the wicked plots against him, he is protected to the uttermost and not allowed to be messed up or put to shame, no matter the situation.
David could not be shamed by the actions of his king and Commander in Chief, Saul. For all that king Herod cared, Peter must be beheaded like James to make the Jews love, fear and support Herod’s rulership the more. Even though Peter was imprisoned to be made a spectacle of shame the following day, rather than Peter being shamed, it was the ruler that became a real shameful scene when he was eaten of worms. To Haman, Mordecai must be disgraced and made a ridicule in society. While he was plotting and maneuvering things against Mordecai, little did Haman know that there is one whose invincible hands can turn the table around to move things placed on one’s side to be found on the other instead. The table turned for the righteous Mordecai and the plot made for his shame was given to his enemy.
No matter what the enemy portends for a believer, even though it takes a bit of a time, the Lord will surely arise and put the enemy in derision. Yes, it may appear truly heavy and burdensome while the enemy is at work; rest assured, the Lord is never late and will arise on behalf of His own. Know this that those who make themselves your enemy have declared enmity with God. But who can battle with the Lord? God is saying to us today that all He seeks from us is the righteousness of Christ. He has shown us examples from those who came before us that those on His side are always victorious. Hence, we have no basis to fear what the enemy would do. For the Egyptians you have seen today, you will see them again no more and forever. That is the word for someone today.
Please pray:
Thank you, Father for always having me covered under your wings of protection. Please let me never be ashamed, let not my enemies triumph over me in any way, in Jesus’ name. Even when the whole world declares a casting down, because I am yours, let me always experience your lifting so as not to be ashamed, in Jesus’ name. Even in famine and scarcity, let me never beg bread but dwell in affluence, in Jesus’ name. Please dumbfound the enemies of my being today, in your power, in Jesus’ name. Let me never see them that are trying to enslave me, ever again from hence, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
