Focus: Isaiah 60:19 - KJV
19. The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
Revelations 21:22-27
There is a general notion amongst men that there is nothing new under the heavens, meaning there is nothing that is, or is to come, which has not been. This is somewhat true in that even the things promised in the prophesies, are tried out in the present day, among the inhabitants of the earth. The Lord has promised a new Jerusalem when the day of the Lord shall come. In that day, the elements will no longer be the source of light unto the inhabitants, but the light from the Lord will shine for them to see with. It presupposes that darkness will in no way have space in that day. But then, those who do not make it to the new Jerusalem will dwell in darkness eternally. As we may know, there is everlasting confusion in darkness, that impedes progress and constantly tend to frustration.
If we look critically at life today, we may discover a glimpse of such as has been prophesied, even now before the day of the Lord, as foretold. There are those who, though they live in the current earth, do not depend in strict sense on the sun or the moon for light. They differ in every sense, from those who grope in darkness, because the Lord Jesus Christ has been their light and remains so, illuminating their paths continually. They tend to succeed in their ways and make considerable progress in their pursuits. Such progress is not necessarily measured in pecuniary terms but through genuine peace and overwhelming joy. Even their countenance is well lit from the joy that indwells them. These ones have started to rehearse how to dwell in the new Jerusalem, when the day of the Lord shall come, and God becomes their everlasting light. Then, it will not be strange to them.
We also can start to partake in the eternal light flowing from the presence of God while we live here on earth. When others are crying of a casting down, we then will only experience a lifting by reason of the Lord’s illumination. Operating in darkness in the present earth will prevent seeing the light of God when the day of the Lord shall come. Invariably, those who hearken to the voice of the Lord their God in the present day, and start to dwell in the light will be accustomed to it and not be blinded by it when the day fully comes. Think about it: if anyone has been in darkness for a while and then gets exposed to a powerful beam of light, the same is not profited by the light but first blinded by it. Don’t forget Saul of Tarsus’ experience on the way to Damascus. So as not to be blinded on that day, start acclimatizing from now.
SOLUTION: Let us learn to be citizens of the heavenly city from now, by obeying God in all His instructions. Let love rule and direct our affairs so that we may be citizens of the light city. Shun everything that relates to darkness now.
Please pray: Father, please separate between me and every issue of darkness in the name of Jesus Christ. Let me start to dwell in the light of your countenance from now and even forever more in Jesus’ name.
Kindly share with others if you have been blessed by this Guide. God bless you as you do so, in Jesus' name.
