Pray In Secret

Focus: 2 Kings 4:33 KJV: "He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the LORD."
Our God honors more our private, focused prayer in a crisis, than the public outcry that we make. Whenever we face an impossible situation, we are enjoined to shut out the noise, distractions, and doubts of the world and enter into our closet so that our father who hears in the secret may glorify Himself publicly through such prayers. By isolating ourself with the problem, we create a quiet space to pour out our heart and completely rely on divine intervention.
A wealthy Shunammite woman’s young son suddenly fell ill and died. She laid the dead boy on Elisha’s bed and sought the prophet in deep distress. When Elisha entered the room, he didn't put on a public show or parade his status. He closed the door on everyone else—including the grieving mother—and locked himself inside with just the corpse. Behind closed doors, Elisha prayed fervently and identified with the child's body. Because he blocked out all distractions to seek God's face, the Lord answered his prayer: the child sneezed seven times, opened his eyes, and was restored to life.
Some breakthroughs require you to close the door. When you are dealing with overwhelming distress or seemingly dead situations, stop looking to the crowd for validation or answers. Step away from the noise, get alone with God, and pray earnestly in secret. Your Father who sees what is done in secret is the only power capable of breathing brand-new life into your situation. Indeed, the effectual fervent prayers of the righteous avails much.
Prayer:
Thank you, father for being a prayer answering God. I come to you today in my closet, alone to pour out my heart to you. Please meet me at the point of my needs. I shut out all noise and distractions to commune with you my Maker and my Love, let that daunting situation melt and give way completely by your presence, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Please share. God bless you.
