25. And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
Deuteronomy 11:13-15
It is a great thing to serve the Lord, for our God is one who appreciates reciprocity. Hence, they that draw nigh to Him through service in the Kingdom, He draws near to them Himself. But serving God is not about lipservice as some are wont to do. They pretend they serve God whereas they only serve their stomachs. We cannot mock God; it is that which a man sows that he reaps. Nonetheless, they who serve the Lord genuinely obtain great privilege from Heaven in that, blessings untold are delivered to them and they become a wonder to those who do know them, ordinarily. They become like trees planted by the rivers of water whose leaves never whither, blossoming through the seasons.
Israel is a country planted in the desert. When Moses commissioned them to serve God, the Lord entered into a covenant of blessing with them. In the land they occupy, there is lush showing everywhere despite being a desert land ordinarily, and that nation has produced the best of brains and wealth over time, because they serve their Lord in the way known to them. Before Peter started to serve the Lord, he was not only timid but also a failure in his fishing business. When he began to serve the Lord, he lacked nothing good and indeed, many began to look for him to bless him for the Lord’s sake. All the assets of the followers of Christ were dumped at his feet, at a point in time, and he was the custodian and sole distributor of it all.
There is no way anyone serves the Lord genuinely without the Lord reciprocating with blessings. That is not to say the enemy may not come to prevent the blessing from showing, like he did in the matter of Job. But the Lord will always cause His own to laugh last. Hence, the Lord wants us to understand that the surest way to blessings is serving the Lord, genuinely and not grudgingly. There are huge treasures also stored up for those who serve God. Serving God is about obeying His commands, living in holiness and pursuing the things that depopulates the Kingdom of darkness for the benefit of the Kingdom of light. Can we all endeavor to do that and be blessed?
Please pray:
Thank you, Lord for the opportunity to serve you. Let the difference between those who do serve you and those who do not, be pronounced and glaring. Do not let the service of your servants be in vain, at any time. Kindly decorate me anew with your blessings for the little that I do in your honor, in Jesus’ name. Let your service be more convenient for me in all I do, in Jesus’ name. And do let my serving you be absolutely productive so that I may be of impact to your Kingdom, Lord, in Jesus’ name. Let your blessings begin to show in a pronounced way in my life, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
