Focus: Matthew 7:21-23 - KJV
21. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Luke 13:23-30
When the Lord shall come, the deciding factor of who He will recognize is what our state is at the time of His coming. At His coming, He will be out to present to His Father a church that is without spot or wrinkle, meaning without blemish, at all. Therefore, it is immaterial what a person may have done or claim to do for Christ, as long as he is found wanting through iniquitous living, he is rejected, for no romance with darkness is impressive to the Light. And, talking about the Church, He makes it clear that people will come from all parts of the earth and be part of the Kingdom, while those who feel entitled will be left out. That presupposes that, what we call Church may not be all encompassing of what the Lord sees as the Church. Indeed, He says most of those who claim to be part of the Church today are hypocrites as they only praise Him with their mouths but have their hearts far from Him. He says He would declare them workers of iniquity who are unknown by Him.
Christ spoke of the ten virgins to indicate to us how stiff making it in the end shall be. The five foolish ones were virgins, but for their foolishness, the bridegroom said to them, “I do not know you”. The same voice will be to those who, though have worked for the kingdom but end up stepping out due to iniquity. Point is, iniquity blurs identity and makes a “righteous” person unidentifiable. Iniquity is that smear on the bridal garment that disqualifies the supposed bride or bridal party member in the sight of the groom. It is characterized by the fruit of sin and waywardness, for, like the scriptures say, it is by their fruit that we know them. The good tree is recognized by its good fruit.
Beloved, time is ticking. Whether you call Jesus Lord or not, your qualification will be determined by the path you tow. Is it the narrow or the wide path? The wide path will only end in perdition where there shall be weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth. If you will stick to the narrow path and avoid last minute distraction, then will you be entitled to a welcome party by the Lord when He comes for His Church. Please desist from everything called iniquity, for no worker of iniquity will make it in the end.
SOLUTION: Eschew iniquity in all ways practicable. Let nothing soil your robe. The time is near for the appearing of the Lord. Always do the will of God
Father, we are on the lookout for your coming, please let nothing distract us. As we crave the joy of the glorious moment, do not allow anything to soil our robes dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. Whatever it is we may have done that may want to stand between us and our being recognized by you, please wash away with your blood today in Jesus’ name. Even now, we pray that you please guide us jealously that we may end well and recognizable in our pursuit of your Kingdom, in Jesus’ name.
