Memorize: Psalms 32:7
Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Read: Psalms 20:6-8
The naivety of the chick makes it wander in the full glare of the scavenging hawk without a sense of danger. But the wise mother hen is always on the lookout for the chicks to prevent the claws of the scavenger from reaching anyone of them. Whenever the mother hen sights the scavenger, she makes a cry for the chicks to come to safety under her feathers. Every chick that prefers to wander despite the alarm is exposed to the preying of the scavenging hawk. So is the life of man in the hands of the devil.
The bible warns us of our adversary the devil going about like a roaring lion looking for whom to devour. But like the mother hen, the Lord is constantly calling us to safety under His wings and His outstretched arms. Some will rather seek pecks on the dunghill rather than heed the call of the Lord. Those pecks are nothing but a bait to destroy. When you make the Lord your hiding place, no “hawk” can gain access to you, and no trouble can reach you. Even when you pass through the waters the Lord will be there for you and through the fire, no matter how fierce, He will not let it kindle you.
So, it is expected that the enemy buffets you because you are on the side of the Lord, that is if you are; but whatever the enemy does, God halts it from drowning you. Those who are not on the side of the Lord are like birds kept in a cage for the roasting of their master. Whilst in the cage, they assume they are safe when they see those on the side of the Lord passing through the waters or the fire, not knowing that they are only being preserved for the enemy’s dinner. Since they are already within reach, the enemy needs not strive to get them.
Therefore, it is wise for everyone in the enemy’s cage who assume they are “good” to cry out to the Lord for help now so that He may come to their rescue and put them in His own hiding place. There, you will find fullness of joy and pleasures forever more.
Pray:
Father, please keep me away from the reach of the enemy by hiding me in your shadow and under the cover of your mighty wings. Do compass me about with songs of deliverance that I may have victory over my detractors in Jesus name.
