Terminating The Wickedness Of The Wicked

Focus: Psalms 7:9 - KJV

9. Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.

Psalms 7:1-10

The wicked is always on the prowl looking for whom he may devour. He is constantly in that business. But God is always available to cover those who love Him from the fangs of the wicked. This is how that operates: God is Light and the enemy/wicked one is darkness personified. When God is near any man, the wicked is far from the same. Hence, to be able to devour, the wicked seeks and waits for the presence of God to shift from his victim and then strikes. For, unless the light is moved, darkness can never operate. When the wicked was going to strike Job, he needed first that the Light (which he called hedge of fire) be moved from Job. He could not strike until that happened. When the wicked was to strike king Saul with insanity, it could not happen until the Spirit of God departed from him. For us therefore to terminate the wickedness of the wicked over our lives, we must be sure to make the Lord our constant refuge. When the Lord moved away from the Israeli army in the days of Joshua, the wicked administered to them defeat at Ai. Until the cause of disaffection was removed, the Lord did not return to them. It is therefore advisable that we constantly check our position to find that the light of God’s countenance is around us. With that, the wickedness of the wicked is pushed far away from us.

Are you going through a serious hard time of sort at the moment and you are wondering what the heck? Don’t look too far; it is the wicked at work. No, it does not mean that you have done to God something heinous necessarily. There was nothing Job did. The wicked is just mean and will always want to dole out wickedness at every opportunity. It is however not out of place to check and be sure that you did not break the hedge somehow through infirmity. More importantly, be quick to seek the restoration of the light of God in the affairs of your life to put off the wickedness of the wicked.

SOLUTION: Take time to rebuke the devil always as much as you can, pleading the blood of Jesus. If you find iniquity in your affairs, be quick to beat a retreat and seek God’s face and He will have you restored. Never go through a full day without checking that the light of God’s countenance is still in place around you. Samson lost the light. When he realized his person and repented, his light was restored albeit for fulfilling his suicidal request. Watch what you wish for when devastated by the wicked.

Father, we want more of you so that we do not become easy target of the wicked. Please keep us enveloped in your light perpetually in the name of Jesus Christ. Whenever we err, dear Lord, help to bring us back swiftly to yourself by your Spirit in Jesus’ name. In everything, please do not allow the wickedness of the wicked to locate us in Jesus’ name. And for everyone that is under the yoke of the wicked at the moment, please set them free today by your mercy in Jesus’ name.
