The Believer’s Real Joy

Focus: 2 Corinthians 1:12-14 - KJV

12. For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. 13. For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end; 14. As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.

John 15:16

The mind of God is that no man should perish but come to repentance so as to have everlasting life. There is no how that is achievable unless someone is sent to preach to the lost and to do so with the words given him by the Spirit of God, and not the wisdom of man. When the lost is recovered into the kingdom, it is the joy of the one sent that the same made it even as it is the joy of the convert that the sent abides in faith. By God, if every convert takes up the gauntlet to also preach to others, the cycle of joy multiplies, and the name of the Lord is glorified.

Jesus found Philip and asked the same to follow Him. Philip did, but did not stop there. He in turn found Nathaniel and invited him to meet Jesus, the one that Moses and all the prophets wrote about. At first, the reaction of Nathaniel was that of skepticism. But when he discovered the truth, he also towed the line. As Philip would have been glad that Nathaniel found the truth, even the latter would have been glad for Philip and the fact that he remained in the faith. Philip could have walked past the normally skeptical Nat, but he did not and there was the salvation of Nathaniel waiting – just to be invited.

There are many who are still languishing in sin because many of us have refused to tell them about Christ. Meanwhile, our excelling in life and in the kingdom is hinged on carrying the message of the kingdom to the entire world. When we do, we will find joy in the converts who also will find joy in us and we will keep praying for one another. If we have no one, who will stand in the gap for us when things become tough? Some converts pray for their benefactors without necessarily knowing their state. When we fail to invite others, we lose the benefit of their prayers for us, in the end.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for the opportunity you gave me to bear fruits and have the same abide in your kingdom. Everyone that the Holy Spirit has drawn by your speaking through me, please let them abide to the end. And every righteous prayer I have made and the converts have made for me, please answer today, in Jesus’ name. Do not let anyone you converted through me fall away, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. Please keep them and keep me joyful to the very end, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. Let us all make your kingdom in the end, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
