Focus: Matthew 25:10 – KJV 10. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Luke 13:23-30
Hallelujah to our God for making us to see this last day of the year. Glory be to the Lord. The parable of the ten virgins is indeed a very good Guide for everyone on this very last day. Each of the virgins sought to be bride of the bridegroom just like many seek to enter the Kingdom of God. If we ask everyone, irrespective of religion, where would you want to spend eternity? The tendency is for almost everyone to say heaven. But the entry to heaven is not automatic; it is dependent on critical factors. For the virgins, they were meant to wait for the bridegroom until he showed up. For them to do so, they needed oil in their lanterns to keep it burning all through the night. Unfortunately, some did not have enough oil and had to step out, to look for some to buy. It was at such critical time that the bridegroom came. One would wonder though, that since there were ten lanterns and five were still aglow, why was it not sufficient to light up the way for them all? The bottom-line is that each lamp is only sufficient for its holder.
The year comes to an end today and it becomes a parable for us all: assuming that before the dawn breaks, while the night is still dark, and like a thief in the night as it was foretold, the Lord comes for His saints? Where will He find you: in and ready? or outside and shopping. Those who are in and ready are those who seek the narrow gate to enter the Kingdom through. They are humble enough to obey the instruction of their Lord to the end, by the help of the Holy Spirit, who the oil represents. Everyone found outside when Christ returns is deemed a dog and dogs are simply hounds of hell and will never enter the Kingdom. Today, many will go a whoring thinking it is the last day of the year and therefore, they will start on a new template in the new year with a new resolution. That is a very dangerous move as it amounts to stepping outside. Funnily, when a righteous man decides to go into sin, all his righteous deeds shall be forgotten and he will suffer the consequences of sin, just like the misdeeds of the sinner that turns to righteousness is wiped clean.
As the year comes to an end today, may all your current afflictions and sorrows be ended in the name of Jesus Christ. As you prepare to enter into the new year, all the opportunities that eluded you in the outgoing year shall be brought forward for your enjoyment in the new year in Jesus’ name. Whatever trap the enemy is preparing for your feet, to prevent you from reigning with Christ, shall not work in your case in Jesus’ name. As you open your eyes into the new year, may the Lord add newness of life, resources, promotion, health and well-being unto you in Jesus’ name. Happy New Year in advance.
SOLUTION: Never lose your guard because of the frenzy in the air. The enemy is still on the prowl. He is not dissuaded because of times and seasons. He is always out looking for whom he may devour. Don’t let him get you.
